ABOUT

Christine Balliett McEvoy is a Licensed Professional Counselor in St. Louis, Missouri with over 23 years of experience in counseling services.

 

After graduating with a Bachelor's degree in psychology from Truman State University, Christine moved to Huntsville, Texas where she completed her Master's degree in Clinical Psychology at Sam Houston State University. This program provided a heavy emphasis on psychological assessment and testing as well as therapeutic intervention. 

Following her time in Texas, Christine moved back to St. Louis, where she was employed with the Missouri Department of Corrections - treating individuals with cognitive therapy techniques, relapse prevention and chemical dependency. In 2000, she began work at Castlewood Treatment Center which focused on treatment of individuals with eating disorders.

She conducted both individual and group therapies addressing topics while at Castlewood. In addition to working with individuals with various eating, body image and self-esteem struggles, McEvoy also worked with couples addressing sexual dysfunctions and relationship issues through the use of the Internal Family Systems therapy model. While Christine began her private practice in 2001, she continued working with Dr. Kimberli McCallum who founded McCallum Place, an intense treatment facility for eating disorders during 2002. In 2007, she devoted full time to her private practice.
